Jessica Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, have reportedly decided to separate after 16 years of marriage. Report has stated that they are nearing divorce. Alba’s representative has not yet responded to requests for comment.

The couple first met in 2004 in Vancouver during the shooting of the superhero movie Fantastic Four, where Jessica Alba played Sue Storm and Warren was a director’s assistant. They married on May 19, 2008, and have three children together: daughters Honor (16) and Haven (13), and son Hayes (7).

Just earlier in January, the couple appeared united while celebrating their son Hayes’ 7th birthday. On New Year’s Eve, Alba posted a cryptic message, saying she hoped 2024 would be filled with “connection, growth, adventures, laughter, peace, sisterhood, transformation, rebirth, joy, and love.”

In an interview with PEOPLE in September 2021, Jessica Alba talked about balancing her business, parenting, and her marriage. She explained that she and Warren always communicated their needs to keep their relationship strong. She shared, “At different times, we needed different things. After the kids, I wanted date night every week, and he wanted me to be present on weekends, not working.” She added that they often “over-communicate” to avoid problems growing too big.

In July 2021, during an Instagram conversation with Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, Jessica Alba admitted that balancing parenting and marriage was challenging. “Sometimes I think my husband gets the short end of the stick,” she said. “When we do spend quality time together, it’s rewarding for both of us, but it’s hard. After a few years, you end up just being roommates, checking the boxes of responsibility.”

Jessica Alba also mentioned that they had weekly date nights earlier, but that stopped as time went on. “The key is communicating when you’re unhappy, addressing it immediately, and not letting things build up,” she said. “We’ve gone through that before – letting things fester until there’s anger, then it explodes.” She added that in long-term relationships, people sometimes take each other for granted. “You stop considering each other’s feelings the way you would with others. That’s something we work on constantly.”

Alba believes that maintaining a relationship requires daily effort. “If both of you decide to work on it every day, it will work out, despite the drama or struggles.”

To mark their anniversary in May 2024, Alba shared an Instagram post with pictures of the couple over the years. “I’m proud of us for making it this far. There are no real rules to prepare for committing to someone and building a family together,” she wrote. She added, “Through thick and thin, we’ve always found our way back to each other and chosen one another.”
